Sources at the Saudi Deputy Ministry of Hajj and Umrah informed that obtaining a permit has been made easier for the convenience of Umrah pilgrims and those who offer congregational prayers in the Holy Mosque during the month of Ramadan.

The Masjid al-Haram currently has a capacity of 50,000 Umrah pilgrims per day and 100,000 for congregational prayers, while Tawakkalna and Eatmarna are moving towards better options through the exchange of technical information through the app to reach more people. Now the Permits will be issued Every 3 Hours a Day
Further information was provided that the process of obtaining an Umrah permit has been made easier which is provided on a daily and weekly basis. Those who come for Umrah and Masjid al-Haram for congregational prayers can now get a permit every 3 hours a day through Tawakkalna application. To Obey the SOP’s Permits are made Compulsory
Anyone who has to come for Umrah or prayers has been provided with the facility to get Umrah permit every three (3) hours i.e. afternoon at 3 pm and 6 pm through ‘Tawakkalna‘. Keep in mind that keeping in view the principle of social distance due to the coronavirus, it is necessary to obtain an Umrah permit to limit the number of Umrah pilgrims without which one cannot enter Makkah. The Permit is Issued Free of Charge
This facility is provided on the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah’s ‘Eatmarna ‘ and the Ministry of Health’s app ‘Tawakkalna’ for obtaining Umrah permit. There is no fee for the permits. However, gathering points have been set up in Kudai and Shisha areas of Makkah where Umrah pilgrims can park their vehicles and reach Haram Sharif by bus.
Bus fees can be paid online but those who do not have this facility can reach the station and get bus service from there. The bus fare has been fixed at 20 riyals per person which is bilateral. These new rules and regulations are just to avoid overcrowdedness in the Masjid Al-Haram to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
