The MOI Announces to Resume All International Flights With a Certain Conditions

COVID-19 has been the biggest issue of this year. But over time things were started to gradually return to normal. However, recently Saudi Arabia suspended international flights along with sea and land ports due to the fear of a new strain of Coronavirus. All commercial flights were suspended for a 2 weeks in response to the emergence of a potent new strain of the virus in European countries. To know more, keep reading.

The Recent Announcement by the Ministry

The Ministry of Interior has announced that, 

All international flights has been resumed and reopened its land and sea borders, starting from today Sunday January 03, 2021 11:00 am, with a certain conditions.



Earlier Suspension of International Flights for 2 Weeks

Initially all international flights were suspended for a week, starting from Dec 20, 2020, as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of the citizens and Saudi expats working in Saudi Arabia However, the kingdom extended the temporary suspension for another week. However, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported that “Some flights will be allowed in exceptional circumstances.”



Conditions to Travel

S.No. New Covid-19 Countries Conditions
1 New Variant Virus Detected UK, South Africa & Other Countries Saudi expats arriving from these countries must stay 14 days out of these countries before entering to Saudi Arabia.
2 New Variant Virus Detected UK, South Africa & Other Countries Saudi expats and Saudi citizens who are allowed to enter into the Kingdom for humanitarian and urgent cases coming from countries must quarantine 14 days at home ‘Under Supervision’.

Other Conditions:

They will be required 2 PCR tests.

  • First test after 48 hours entering into Saudi Arabia.
  • And 2nd test after 13 days of quarantine. 
3 New Variant Virus Reported Pakistan, India, Philippine & Other Countries Saudi expats and Saudi citizens coming from these countries will require to quarantine for 7 days ‘Under Supervision’ and take a PCR test on the 6th day from arrival. 
4 New Variant Virus has not been Detected Pakistan, India, Philippine & Other Countries Saudi expats and Saudi citizens coming from these countries must isolate at home for 7 days or self-isolate for 3 days and take a PCR test.
